Retail Game Recommendations

Our Game CollectionSuper Mario Galaxy - Super Mario Galaxy is a must have title for the Wii. The gameplay, graphics and sound is all top notch as you can tell form the various awards it has won. Game of the year, Third in 100 greatest Nintendo games of all time, Top 50 console games of all time, Nintendo game of the decade!

Super Mario Galaxy 2 - The sequel to Super Mario Galaxy and regarded as setting the new standard in platforming games. SMG2 has improved level designs, new power-ups and Yoshi! SMG2 also was highly praised from the major game reviewers getting perfect scores across the board. Game of the Year 2010, Best Wii Game of the Year!

New Super Mario Bros. Wii - The game is a throwback to the NES and SNES Mario games but also has up to 4 player simultaneous gameplay. This is as good as it gets in terms of current gen 2D platformers and shouldn’t be missed.

Super Paper Mario - This time around Paper Mario is mixing platforming with RPG and puzzle gameplay rather than being a strait forward RPG. The story is a major part of this game and its all text based so its harder for smaller children but not a deal breaker.

Mario Kart Wii - The newest incarnation of Mario Kart with more characters, levels, motorbikes and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection support to play online. The game can be played using Wii motion controls, Classic Controller, or a GameCube controller.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl - 4 player VS fighting game with characters from the Nintendo franchise. Brawl also added Sonic the Hedgehog and Snake from the Metal Gear series as unlockable characters. The game has a solo mode called The Subspace Emissary where you play through fighting levels, side-scrolling levels, and bosses while learning the story of the game. This is a game you must own for the console!

Punch-Out!! - Little Mac is back in the first Punch-Out game since the SNES. everything you loved in the original games is back with improved graphics and gameplay. You can play the game using just the remote sideways making it control almost just like the original NES version. If your into motion controls you can use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to punch with and if you have the Wii Balance Board you can use it as well to duck and dodge.

Donkey Kong Country Returns - Everything you loved about Donkey Kong Country is back! If you like DKC games, 2D games, or just platformers in general this is a must have game.

Kirby’s Epic Yarn - Kirby’s been turned in a piece of yarn and banished to Patch Land. Since Kirby’s been turned into yarn all his familiar abilities have been changed. The gameplay is spot on and the graphics are breathtaking. Another must have title for platform lovers.

Kirby’s Return to Dream Land - Kirby is back with classic gameplay, once again being able to inhale and copy ability’s from enemies and now having access to new super abilities from special enemies. Kirby’s Return to Dream Land can also be played with up to 4 player co-op with playable characters such as Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight, and Waddle Dee! Just like most Kirby games it starts of easy and ramps up the difficultly as you progress through the game. I personalty regard this as one the best Kirby games released and would place it in my Top Wii games easily!

Wario Land: Shake It! - Another 2D platformer with hand drawn backgrounds and spot on gameplay! The game also has a very nicely done animated opening and ending. It was developed by Good-Feel the same company that made Kirby’s Epic Yarn. Sadly this game is very underrated and doesn’t get the credit it deserves.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves - Party / Mini Games – Story driven mini game collection that’s full of wacky humor and bizarre games.

Sin and Punishment: Star Successor - A on-rails shooting game developed by Treasure! Simply put one of the best on-rails shooters out there. If you like Panzer Dragoon you owe it to yourself to try this title out.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn - Sequel to Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance for the GameCube where you are even able to bring your save game data over into the new game. Tactical RPG that shouldn’t be missed for fans of the genre.

Metroid Prime Trilogy / Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - Metroid Prime 3: Corruption continues the first person action adventure / shooter Prime series. Nintendo released the trilogy pack with updated versions of Prime 1 and 2 with new Wii controls but it has become very hard to track down due to the limited number of copies Nintendo released. If you are lucky enough to get the trilogy at a fair price its by far the way to go but if not you can always pick up part 3 on the Wii and track 1 and 2 down for GameCube.

Metroid: Other M - Mixes First and third person action from the Prime trilogy with classic 2D gameplay from the original Metroid series.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Action / Adventure – Also available on the GameCube but having enhanced gameplay and graphics for the Wii port make this the definitive version to own. Not much to say here really if you own a Nintendo Wii you should have this title in your collection.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - Action / Adventure – Skyward Sword takes full advantage of the Wii’s MotionPlus controller with spot on motion controls, in fact the game is widely regarded as showing what motion controls should be like when done right with many people saying this is the game the console was made for. So far this is the earliest game in the Zelda timeline with back story about the Master Sword and Ganon. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Zelda the game had a limited release that came packed with a gold MotionPlus controller and soundtrack.

Wii Fit - a exercise game that uses the Wii Balance Board for yoga, strength training, aerobics, and balance. the third best selling console game in history!!!

Wii Sports Resort - A improved version of Wii Sports (bundled with the Nintendo Wii at launch) with more games and better control thanks to the packed in Wii Motion Plus peripheral.

Mario Super Sluggers - The sequel to Mario Superstar Baseball for the GameCube. This is one of the first titles Nintendo has released for there new Nintendo Selects titles that’s priced at $19.99.

Animal Crossing: City Folk - Third game in the series and in my opinion the best one so far!

Endless Ocean: Blue World - Simulation / Adventure – Sequel to Endless Ocean with improved graphics, larger explorable areas and new diving locations.

Little Kings Story - a simulation RPG that plays like Pikman mixed with Harvest Moon. You grow and harvest stuff as well as command a small army of people to fight and do all your work. Very underrated game that shouldn’t be overlooked.

Arc Rise Fantasia - Oldschool JRPG for the Wii.

Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon - humanity has vanished and you are alone after your grandfather dies, so you set off into the world to find out if anyone else is still out there. RPG / survival horror

Tales Of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World - Sequel to the 2004 GameCube JRPG game Tales Of Symphonia.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade - Action / RPG made by Vanillaware. Anyone that thinks you need 1080p for great graphics hasn’t played Muramasa. Another very underrated gem on the console.

Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga - Action RPG with a real-time battle system and no random encounters. 2 player online co-op.

Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love - Tactical RPG / Dating Sim – The fifth title in the Sakura Wars series but the first title to make it outside Japan.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers - Action / Adventure – Single player real time combat action game so dont pick this up thinking your getting your typical Final Fantasy game.

Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon - Rogue-like RPG with randomly generated dungeons humorous dialogue and lots of Final Fantasy fanservice!!

Rune Factory: Frontier - Simulation / RPG – Another great RPG for the console! Think Harvest Moon mixed with more RPG elements.

Phantom Brave: We Meet Again - Tactical RPG – Made by Nippon Ichi Software and very similar to the Disgaea series.

Monster Hunter Tri - Action RPG where you do missions to earn levels items and goods. Play single player or team up with a friend online!

Opoona - RPG – Very strange and underrated RPG where you fight enemies using your “Bon-Bon” that floats over your characters head. Artwork was done by Shintaro Majima who has worked on the Dragon Quest series and music by Hitoshi Sakimoto who did the soundtrack to Final Fantasy XII.

Okami - Game of the Year in 2006 for the PS2. The controls in this game are spot on its like this game was made for motion controls. Its a must own game if you missed out on the PS2 version or if you want to try playing it with the new control system!

Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and Tower of Mirrors - On Rails / Action RPG – Very strange but enjoyable game with a On Rails system that uses a sword and a shield rather than a gun.

One Piece: Unlimited Adventure - Adventure / Platformer – reminds me of a simplified Kingdom Hearts game. Lots of side quests of collecting, bug hunting and fishing! Very underrated and rather rare to find in the wild but well worth tracking down.

Klonoa - Platformer – Remake of the PS1 game Klonoa: Door to Phantomile with improved graphics and gameplay.

Geometry Wars: Galaxies - SHMUP / Shooter – A shooter that’s all about getting the highest score you can get before you die.

Castle of Shikigami III - SHMUP / Manic Shooter – Very popular manic shooter series that shouldn’t be overlooked if you like the genre.

Ultimate Shooting Collection - SHMUP / Shooter – You get three great SHMUPS in this package that was originally released on the Dreamcast. Chaos FieldKarous and Radio Allergy! This is one of the best values you can get if you like the SHMUP genre, getting all three of the Dreamcast ports can cost quit a bit where the Wii port is a value priced game.

Blast Works: Build, Trade, Destroy - SHMUP / Shooter – Typical side scrolling shooter game but what makes it stand out in the crowd is the ability to mod everything in the game and create your own levels enemies and ships! After you create a level you can upload it to there web page for others to download as well as downloading stuff others has made and uploaded! Think Little Big Planet mixed with a SHMUP.

A Boy and His Blob - Platformer / Puzzle – Remake of the NES title A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia. Very beautiful game with art work inspired by Hayao Miyazaki co-founder of Studio Ghibli who make great animated films like Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and Princess Mononoke.

NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams - Platformer / Flying – Sequel to Nights into Dreams… for the Sega Saturn and developed by Team Sonic. Another underrated game that didn’t get the praise it deserves.

Trauma Center Series - Trauma Center: Second OpinionTrauma Center: New Blood, and Trauma Team - Surgeon Simulation – The Trauma Center series is one of my favorites for the Wii console and I think it has the best use of motion controls to date as well. You play the role of different surgeons doing missions that involve saving peoples lives to progress the story. Trauma Team is the only game in the series that replaces the cast with new character as the game takes place 1 year prior to Under the Knife / Second Opinion.

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars - VS Fighting – The seventh game in the Capcom VS fighting franchise. Tatsunoko is a Japanese anime company that has mad many titles over the years such as Robotech, Tekkaman: The Space Knight, and Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. Best third party VS fighting game on the console hands down.

Samurai Shodown Anthology - VS Fighting – Arcade-perfect ports of Samurai Shodown I, II, III, IV, V and VI! This was the first time part VI was released to north America!

King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga - VS Fighting – You get King of Fighters 94, 95, 96, 97, and 98 all in one package! Near arcade perfect port with no slowdown or lag!

GoldenEye 007 - FPS – Reimagining of the original GoldenEye game for the Nintendo 64. One of the best FPS games for the Wii console!

The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces - Combat Flight Simulator – Developed by Project Aces responsible for the Ace Combat series. This game has spot on motion controls using both the Wii remote and the Nunchuk to control the plans throttle, tilt, roll, pitch and yaw. You also have the option of using a Gamecube controller or Classic Controller. Very underrated and every bit as good if not better than the Ace Combat series.

Secret Files: Tunguska - Point and Click Adventure – Classic Point and Click Adventure game where you have to find objects and talk to people to solve puzzles to advance the story. If you have ever played any of the old PC Sierra or Lucas Arts games you will be right at home with this title.

Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure - Point and Click Adventure – Very underrated adventure game that is known for is difficulty.

Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars (The Director’s Cut) - Point and Click Adventure – Director’s Cut of the original PC title of the same name with added content. Nico is now a playable character as well as new artwork, new puzzles, co-op mode, and multiple solutions to solve puzzles.

The House of the Dead: Overkill - Rail Shooter – Prequel to the original House of the Dead game. Extreme blood and gore and more F-bombs than I think I have ever saw in a video game on a Nintendo console! If you like Rail Shooters this is a must have game.

House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return - Rail Shooter – remakes of House of the Dead 2 and 3 with new gameplay modes.

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles - Rail Shooter – A on rails shooter retelling the events of Resident Evil Zero, Resident Evil, and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.

Disney’s Guilty Party - Party / Puzzle – Take turns moving through the house finding clues to identify the culprit. If you like the board game Clue you should give this a try.

Dokapon Kingdom - Party / RPG – Party game very similar to the Mario Party series but with RPG elements. Very underrated title that in my option is the best party game I have ever played.

MadWorld - Beat ‘Em Up – Very bloody and violet game where the blood is the only color shown in the game everything else is black and white. (Think Sin City) The game is a lot like the movie Running Man where you are on a game show where its kill or be killed.

No More Heroes - Action / Adventure – Open world game where you can do missions to buy weapons and upgrades to kill the top ten assassins of the game using your beam katana!

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle - Action / Adventure – Sequel to No More Heroes that picks up 3 years after the events of the first game.

Red Steel 2 - FPS / Swords – Mission based gameplay where you earn cash to upgrade and improve your character. A must have title for the Wii with great MotionPlus controls!

Epic Mickey - Platformer / Action with RPG elements – Mickey Mouse accidentally messes up a world created for forgotten characters and concepts so sets out on a adventure to try and fix the world with the aid of a magic paintbrush. The game shows a darker version of mickey mouse then we are used to and also has a morality system where you work toward being good or bad. This is one that shouldn’t be missed on the console.

Lost in Shadow - Puzzle / Platforming – You play as a shadow in the background of the game environment solving puzzles to make your way to the top of the tower. You also are aided by a sylph that can adjust the stages light source to change the shadows in the stage.

The Conduit - FPS – First person shooter with controls very similar to Metroid Prime 3: Corruption but having the option to remap any of the buttons and tweak the speed and accuracy of the controls on the fly. It also has a very good online multiplayer with 7 maps with up to 12 players.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories - Survival Horror – A re-imagining of the original Silent hill game for the PS1.

Sonic Colors - Platformer – The best Sonic title since the 16 bit era! Yes I enjoyed it even more than Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast!!!! I know a lot of people has lost faith in Sonic games but I highly recommend you give this a try because its one of the best third party platformers on the Wii console.

Spyborgs - Beat ‘Em Up – Very underrated 3D Beat ‘Em Up game similar to Final Fight or Streets or Rage with very nice graphics and spot on gameplay. shouldn’t be overlooked by fans of the genre.

Centipede Infestation - Twin Stick Shooter – Atari’s re-imagining of the Centipede game where the game play is like Robotron: 2084, Smash T.V., and Cannon Spike! Fans of the genre shouldn’t miss this game. Centipede Infestation has spot on controls when using the classic controller, many unlockable characters as well as 2 player local co-op.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold - Beat ‘Em Up – 2D side scrolling beat em’ up with very nice graphics in the same style as the cartoon. If you are a fan of any of the countless beat ‘em up games from the 16 bit era then then you will feel right at home with this title. The controls are spot on using the Wii Remote and Nunchuck only making you use motion control’s for special moves.

Ivy the Kiwi? - Platform / Puzzle – Ivy is a just hatched bird that’s trying to find her way home. Your job is to make sure she gets there safely. The player dont control Ivy, she is always moving trying to get back to her mother. Your job is to use the Wii remote and draw vines (lines) to make sure Ivy avoids danger and makes it back to her mother safely. Gameplay is a lot like Kirby: Canvas Curse on the DS.

Gunslingers - On-Rails Shooter – Wild West / Steampunk themed on rails shooter with Four-player Co-op, Survival Mode, and Story mode. The graphics have a pleasing cell-shaded look. The best thing about this game is it comes packed with 2 Wii Mote revolver guns that use the trigger for the B button and have a button on the grip that activates the A button. This is also a budget priced game so for $35.00 you get a good light gun game and 2 of the best guns available for the console! A must have for fans of Light Gun / On Rails Shooters!

Xenoblade Chronicles - RPG – Xenoblade Chronicles is unlike any RPG I have ever played being a unique blend of all the best elements of J-RPG’s, Western RPG’s, MMORPG’s and Action Adventure RPG’s! The story captivates right from the beginning when you find out the world is two large titans that were engaged in a on going battle until time finally took its toll rendering them immobile. After time life began to emerge on the titans, humanoid’s on the Bionis and robot like constructs called The Mechon on the Mechonis. Even after new life springs up from the titans it didn’t take long for the two races to become engaged in a ongoing war where the only thing that can stop the Mechon is a mythical sword called the Monado. The game has a huge open world to explore where everything you can see can be reached and explored. The game world also has a time system changing between day and night where the people go about there daily routines interacting with each other making the game really come to life. Xenoblade has a real-time battle system where you control one character and the other two will auto attack using the skill’s you set for them. All the enemies of the game are visible (no random encounters) allowing you to attack what you want and after a set amount of time the enemies will respawn. Aggro plays a big role in the combat system as tank classes will try to keep the mobs attention on them allowing others to pull off back stab moves and protecting healers just like in MMO games. Xenoblade is a huge game filled with many side quests as well as the main story line arc. This is without a doubt one of the best if not the best RPG’s of this generation!

Fishing Resort - Fishing Resort made by Yuji Naka’s (The Creator of Sonic) and brought overseas by Xseed is a pleasant surprise compared to all the shovelware fishing games to be found on the console. In Fishing Resort you can fish anywhere there is water and there are over 200 kinds of fish to be caught! The Island is very large and offers many different types of fishing such as the sea, lakes, streams and even ice fishing in the mountains. The game offers much more then just fishing as you gain points that can be spent on upgrading your equipment and getting new clothes. This is a very fun and addicting game that I would categorize as a Fishing-RPG and shouldn’t be dismissed or overlooked.
